Unity School’s basic teaching philosophy is incorporated into every curriculum module, or Learning Unit. This is to provide an educational opportunity for children to have fun experiencing and building a trusting and loving relationship with themselves and each other.
We firmly believe that play is fundamental to a young child’s intellectual growth. It is the very “business” of childhood. We carefully design all of our learning units to engage the youngster’s imagination while teaching developmentally appropriate preschool concepts and skills.
Social, emotional and physical learning complement mental learning and children use all their senses to explore the materials and subjects. Some of our favorite unit subjects include the solar system, fairy tales, dinosaurs, sea life, our community, and insects.
